TREATMENT REVIEW
RADIO FREQUENCY COMBINATION PROTOCOL
Editorial assistant, Connie Cooper visited the peaceful Pfeffer Sal clinic, for a radio frequency treatment, targeting sculpting, firming and refining
THE LOWDOWN
I headed down to the serene Pfeffer Sal clinic in Fitzrovia to try out their new radio frequency (RF) protocol, designed to boost collagen production, improve firmness, and tighten skin elasticity over several treatments.
Offering a non-invasive, gentle solution, it refines skin texture and sculpts the face.
This treatment combines radio frequency, lymphatic drainage, and LED light therapy, producing gradual results over the sessions, allowing the body’s natural collagen and elastin production to rebuild and strengthen over time, leaving the skin looking firmer, smoother, and naturally rejuvenated with no downtime – making it the ultimate lunchtime facial.
THE EXPERIENCE
Stepping down into the minimalist cove that is Pfeffer Sal clinic, I was immediately relaxed.
Before my treatment, I was able to share my goals and preferences. I opted for relaxing music throughout my appointment, which contributed to the calming, patient-focused experience.
My lovely therapist Charmaine upheld the relaxing atmosphere, whilst discussing the protocol and delving into my skincare routine and skin concerns.
The treatment began with a gentle double cleanse before the radio frequency process started.
Using the Jovena device, Charmaine began the radio frequency treatment, applying the cooling RF gel before starting.
The device uses RF Diatermo Contraction, which is non-invasive and combines radiofrequency with neuromimetic electrical stimulation.
RF emits warming energy deep into the layers of the skin to encourage collagen and elastin production.
As expected, the RF was incredibly soothing, similar to a hot stone massage, exactly how Charmaine described.
The device delivered a gentle, warming tingling sensation across the skin, which made it easy to unwind throughout.
The second stage of the treatment was lymphatic drainage, using the same QUAD handpiece.
The aim of this step was to sculpt and lift the skin by stimulating muscle contractions.
It was an unusual sensation, creating light muscle spasms along the temple, cheekbones, jawline, and décolletage.
The final step was Dermalux LED light therapy to further stimulate the collagen process, enhance cellular energy, and reduce inflammation and downtime.
THE VERDICT
In terms of experience, the overall treatment was incredibly tranquil from start to finish.
There was absolutely no downtime, and my skin had a lovely, subtle glow and felt slightly smoother and tighter immediately after the treatment.
As expected, the instant results from one session of radiofrequency are understated, with patients generally noticing gradual results after 6-12 sessions.
BUSINESS BENEFITS
With no downtime, this procedure offers a popular addition to the treatment menu, tapping into growing demand for noninvasive, no-downtime solutions that fit seamlessly into patients’ busy lifestyles.
This treatment can be positioned as a “lunchtime facial” and makes it highly marketable, encouraging repeat visits and course-based bookings that drive consistent revenue. The combination of radiofrequency, lymphatic drainage, and LED also allows practitioners to deliver a multi-modality experience with minimal consumables and downtime management.
