Non-invasive skin rejuvenation plays a key role in aesthetics, offering an alternative to surgery for improving skin quality, tone and firmness. There is a growing demand for combining modalities to enhance results by addressing multiple concerns simultaneously, improve treatment efficiency and reduce overall downtime. By targeting different skin layers, these approaches stimulate fibroblast activity, increasing collagen production for natural-looking results.
The illumismooth by Lynton addresses premature ageing and meets this demand through its ability to stimulate fibroblasts, restructure collagen and reduce uneven pigmentation, redness and thread vessels. Rather than masking ageing, it works to repair, renew and strengthen the skin over time.
Combining ReBright 585 IPL to target uneven tone, pigmentation and vascular irregularities, followed by ResurFACE Er:YAG 2940nm fractional laser resurfacing to gently ablate the epidermis, can result in a fresher, flawless complexion with smoother skin and a reduction in open pores and wrinkles, leaving a healthy glow.
This case study outlines results in a female client treated with the illumismooth protocol over 12 weeks.
METHOD
At initial consultation, the client reported dull, lacklustre skin with reduced tone and elasticity, particularly around the jawline, affecting her confidence. She sought visible improvement without injectables or surgery.
Three treatments were performed at 4–5 week intervals, each lasting approximately 60 minutes.
Each session involved:
• Double cleansing with Lynton facial cleanser to remove make up and environmental pollutants
• Application of a thin layer of clear, water-based gel, followed by 1 pass of ReBright 585 IPL (fluence 18J/cm², 3 pulses, 30ms delay) targeting pigmentation and vascular irregularities
• 1 pass of ResurFACE fractional Er:YAG 2940nm (1 pulse) for superficial epidermal rejuvenation and collagen remodelling
• Post-treatment application of cold compresses, Lynton Light Soothe and Lynton Light Protect SPF 50
RESULTS
As shown in the images, Figure 1 highlights improved skin tone uniformity, reduced pigmentation, softer fine lines, increased brightness, smoother texture and less visible pores.
Fig 2 demonstrates improved jawline contour and skin firmness, which the client particularly noticed and was pleased with.
“My skin felt and still feels wonderful after my course of three treatments concluded. A week after each treatment, my skin would be glowing, and I could see my jawline had tightened. I found I wore less make-up and the vibrancy in my skin had returned. It was amazing how this all impacted on my outlook in general. I found myself to be more confident and I became cheerier in myself.”
CONCLUSION
This case highlights the benefits of noninvasive, dual-modality skin rejuvenation. The illumismooth by Lynton protocol effectively targeted multiple skin layers, delivering visible and tangible improvements without injectables and with minimal downtime (under 48 hours). The combination of IPL and fractional Er:YAG enables treatment of both superficial and deeper concerns within a single session, offering a safe and effective regenerative approach..
