WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF AT THE START OF YOUR CAREER?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth takes time. It’s very easy to feel pressure to expand quickly, especially when you see others growing fast. However, I believe that building a solid reputation should come before rapid growth.
For me, the most important thing has been focusing on delivering consistent results and creating a positive patient experience. When patients feel confident in your work and cared for, they trust you. That trust naturally leads to loyalty, word-of-mouth recommendations, and steady growth.
Another key element is ongoing education. Aesthetics evolves very quickly, so continually investing in training, safety knowledge, and new techniques is essential for long-term success.
WHAT’S A RISK YOU HAVE TAKEN IN YOUR CAREER THAT HAS PAID OFF?
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken has been building my clinic. I decided to create a clinic at my home and went through the process of getting CQC registration. At the time it felt like a huge step forward, but it also meant making a big commitment as a family.
We sold our house to buy a property with land so that we could build the clinic. It was a brave decision, and although it worked well, the space we created ended up being too small as we expanded.
So we took another leap. We sold that property and purchased a new one where we could design and build a much larger, purpose-built clinic. Now that it’s complete we finally have a beautiful clinic space that reflects the level of care we want to offer our patients.
HOW DO YOU HOPE YOUR PATIENTS FEEL WHEN THEY LEAVE YOUR CLINIC?
While results are important, the overall patient experience is just as significant. Many patients come into the clinic because they feel self-conscious or lack confidence, and sometimes even a small change can make a huge difference. My aim is not only for patients to love their results but also to feel comfortable, respected, and supported throughout the entire process. Aesthetic treatments are very personal, and daunting. I want patients to feel listened to and reassured. From the first enquiry through to aftercare, the goal is always to provide a positive and supportive experience that builds long-term trust.
HOW DO YOU SELECT NEW TREATMENTS AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR YOUR CLINIC?
In aesthetics it can be very tempting to follow every new trend or treatment that appears on the market. Patients trust practitioners to make responsible decisions about what treatments are offered. I always look carefully at the clinical evidence behind anything I consider introducing. Safety and effectiveness must come first.
I also assess the quality of the technology, the level of training provided, and whether the treatment will genuinely benefit my patients.
WHAT INITIALLY DREW YOU TO REJURAN?
Polynucleotides are quite new to the market and I’ve used a range of polynucleotides, but when I heard about REJURAN, the scientific backing was a huge bonus. They are the highest published papers for polynucleotides and they have +90% market share in Korea. I also liked how it is more natural – they’re not farm produced.
WHAT MAKES REJURAN STAND OUT?
One of the key reasons I support REJURAN is the strength of the clinical evidence behind them. Also, there’s now a big market in the aesthetics industry with people wanting to look after their skin.
We’re now seeing younger clients coming in looking at preventative and prejuvenative treatments. Skin health is a big thing for aesthetics alongside more subtle enhancements – people want to look refreshed and natural.
WHAT TRENDS EXCITE YOU RIGHT NOW?
One of the biggest changes I’ve noticed in recent years is the shift in what patients want from aesthetic treatments. Instead of looking for dramatic changes, they often want subtle treatments that help maintain healthy skin and natural features. As I mentioned, “prejuvenation” has become more popular, with patients focusing on preserving their appearance rather than altering it.
Aesthetics is also increasingly overlapping with well-being. People want to feel confident and refreshed, but still look like themselves. As a result, skin health treatments have become a major focus within the industry.
