Treatment review: Morpheus8 with nerve blocker

THE LOWDOWN

Morpheus8 is a revolutionary treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten skin. It's like a mini-facelift without surgery, addressing wrinkles, crepey sagging skin, and uneven texture for a more youthful and refreshed appearance. At the end of 2024, I underwent a Morpheus8 treatment on my lower face and under chin area with Dr Sach Mohan at Revere Clinic. Opting for a nerve block meant that Dr Mohan could push the settings to the highest level, enabling the same results in fewer sessions and allowing for final results are observed three months sooner.

THE EXPERIENCE

With the nerve block in place, which can only be administered by a health care professional, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the procedure itself was relatively comfortable. There was minimal sensation during the treatment, aside from an unusual burning smell somewhat reminiscent of bacon, which I later learned was due to the radiofrequency energy interacting with the skin’s deeper layers.

As the evening progressed, however, the numbness wore off, and I started to experience a slight, manageable pain in the treated areas.

THE VERDICT

When I returned to the clinic for my follow-up, my results were compared and assessed using the Aura 3D Imaging System by Hexagon. The imaging revealed a remarkable lift in my facial tissues, even more significant than what was visible to the naked eye. This technology offered a fascinating insight into the structural improvements that had taken place beneath the skin.

Several months on, I am still noticing the benefits of the treatment. My skin appears firmer and more contoured, particularly under the chin, where laxity was previously an issue. However, I have experienced some persistent minor marks on my chin, though they are gradually fading over time.

I can tell that the nerve block was a game-changer in terms of comfort and the ability to use the highest setting undoubtedly contributed to the final lifting effect. While the post-treatment discomfort and lingering marks required some patience, the overall outcome has been worth it.
