DIBI MILANO AND APG TECH’S VENICE LEARNING ADVENTURE

Venice, Italy

Contributing reporter Lollie Hancock was whisked away for 72 hours in Venice with Alfaparf Milano brands Dibi Milano and APG Tech to take part in a ‘Venice Learning Adventure’.

Alfaparf flew out 35 of its key clinic partners from across the UK and Ireland to introduce them to the latest launches and innovations from the brands.

After arriving in Venice in the early evening and refuelling with pasta and pizza, the group headed to bed to rest up ready for the first full day in the floating city.

Day one began with a boat ride to the hotel and venue for the next two days, the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, where the group was taken straight through to a networking lunch featuring an array of international flavours and fresh, local ingredients, to mix and mingle with Alfaparf’s UK and Italian teams as well as their industry peers from across the UK and Ireland.

The afternoon was then spent watching presentations from Dr Rolando Lo Giudice, who sits on the brand’s scientific board, skincare devision general manager Dario Musi, and brand and events manager Cinza Acerbis, as the team highlighted both the scientific and technical approach to the latest device launches for facial treatments, body shaping, and laser hair removal.

Speaking about the conference, Dr Dianni Dai, medical director at Dr L’Art Aesthetic Clinic, commented, “Not only did we have a taste of the authentic Venetian culture and Italian hospitality, but we also had a fantastic learning experience exploring the latest APG technologies for treating a range of skin and body concerns, including peri menopausal skin, cellulite, or adult acne.”

Marie Dolan RGN INP, director of Define by Marie Dolan, added , “It is refreshing to see first-hand, the dedication and commitment to the latest research and development of the medical devices and cutting-edge skincare products. The team are incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to offering the very best support and advice.“

Sales director Thomas Klein then talked the clinic owners through his top tips for clinic success, sharing stats and reports on how the market’s recent shift towards results-driven advanced treatments is showing no signs of slowing.

The group finished day one in a traditional Osteria, followed by Aperol Spritzes in the hotel’s rooftop bar overlooking the views of the famous city (after all, when in Rome… or Venice).

The morning of day two allowed the clinic owners the chance to try the tech for themselves, as guests were invited to one-to-one sessions with head of education Andrea O’Donnell and other members of the brand’s UK and Italian education teams.

The final afternoon took the group on an excursion to the islands of Murano and Burano, where we were treated to a waterside lunch on Murano Island followed by a private tour of the Vetreria Ducale to learn more about the island’s history of glassmaking. Alfaparf kindly gifted everyone on the trip their own original and one-of-a-kind glass sculpture. The boat then took them around the beautiful Burano to see the island’s colourful buildings.

For the last evening in Venice, the group split into two as local guides took them on walking tours through the streets of Venice to learn about the city’s history, finishing at the final dinner location, Ristorante Antica Besseta, for a traditional Venetian dinner to bring the trip to a close.

In true Venice fashion, the group was taken to the airport for an early flight back to London the next morning on private taxi boats, with one final trip through Venice’s canals as the city woke up.

Reflecting on the trip, Nikki Zanna RN NIP, owner, and lead aesthetic nurse at Halo Aesthetics Cosmetic Skin Clinic, said, “This two-day experience was packed full of learning and bursting at the seams with Italian hospitality. This was an unforgettable trip that we were delighted to be a part of, and we are excited about what the future holds working with our partner Dibi Milano.”
