Potenza: RF microneedling, but not as you know it

Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling is not a new technology in the aesthetics industry, but Cynosure has taken it to the next level when it comes to Potenza, which uses ultra-fine needles and RF energy to penetrate the skin and trigger the body’s natural healing process to regenerate new collagen and elastin.

Having fast become recognised for its extensive capabilities, Potenza is a unique and advanced system. Reputable for its four modes of RF, customisable tips, ultra-fine needles and targeted energy, it delivers skin revitalisation, boosting collagen regeneration and elastin production across all skin types, anywhere on the body, at any time of year.

With four RF modes, nine different needle configurations, Tiger and Fusion tip technology and customisable energy settings and impedance monitoring, practitioners can fine-tune treatments based on a patient’s specific needs and concerns, resulting in a bespoke treatment where trusted, patented technology is delivered every time.

This first and only FDA-cleared, fourmode device, offers a more customised approach for patients than ever before, allowing practitioners to deliver both shallow and deeper treatments (at 1 or 2MHz frequencies) on a single system.

Uniquely, Potenza is also the only RF microneedling device cleared for use on active Acne Vulgaris, thanks to the single-needle handpiece, helping to pinpoint concerns and target blemishes, delivering precise RF energy to the selected depth in the dermis, while reducing existing scars and preventing further scarring or surface side effects.

Potenza’s monopolar RF mode delivers energy across a larger area of tissue for deep heating and skin tightening through soft tissue coagulation, not only on the face but anywhere on the body.

In contrast, the bipolar RF mode offers a more concentrated, targeted delivery of energy to treat superficial tissue and provide ideal skin revitalisation results.

The ground-breaking device is also equipped with Tiger Tip™ technology, the first semi-insulated needles of its design, which allow practitioners to expand the treatment zone and address more tissue per treatment at multiple depths, which translates to quicker sessions for patients, without sacrificing the epidermis.

Potenza has a one-of-a-kind capability thanks to the Fusion Tip, the first and only tip with a dual-air chamber design. The Fusion Tip captures and releases air towards the skin with each pulse, enhancing the penetration of topicals (such as meso and skin boosters) into the skin by 67%, for maximum results for each patient.

Potenza’s capabilities span both patient results and practitioner satisfaction, due to its real-time impedance monitoring, whereby the device measures in ohms and makes instant adjustments to achieve and maintain the optimal therapeutic level of RF delivery. Taking the guesswork out of treatments for practitioners provides consistent efficacy.

Dr Kaywaan, Hannah London Medispa, says, “Potenza is a cut above older technology in that it provides practitioners with the ultimate freedom and flexibility via its unique propensity to customise the intensity and distribution of energy for different parts of the body or face.

This means that not only can multiple concerns be addressed, but there are also fewer passes needed, meaning minimal downtime for the patient and maximum ROI for the user.”
