REGENERATION RISING

We caught up with aesthetic doctor Dr Jess Halliley to find out more about how her journey into aesthetic medicine led her to become a SuneKOS trainer

HOW DID YOU BEGIN YOUR CAREER IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE?

“I graduated with honours back in 2014, and went straight into my foundation training, followed by specialty training in general practice.

“Around five years ago, I decided to do the Level 7 postgraduate diploma in aesthetic medicine. I’d started having injectable treatments myself, and saw the real difference they could make to your psychological wellbeing, not just your external appearance.

“It lit a fire in me, and the rest is history! I love the combination of artistry and clinical skills.”

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT AS AN AESTHETIC PRACTITIONER?

“My patients always comment on my ability to really listen to what they want to achieve, but also educate them on what will give them the best possible results; it is a delicate balance.

“Ultimately, I only ever want a consultation with me to feel a positive, empowering experience for my patients. They often come to me for the first time following a particularly vulnerable period in their life, and my ability to connect with them, building rapport and trust, leads to a long-term journey together.

WHAT ARE THE COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT BIO-REGENERATIVE INJECTABLES?

“One thing I hear a lot is the misconception that the results are underwhelming. Which, with the right product, is certainly not the case.

“On the flip side, you also have individuals who think bio-regenerative injectables work the same as filler, or replace the role of filler. They are also not the same as skin boosters, which hydrate the skin. Instead, they work at a deeper level- stimulating collagen, improving elasticity, and addressing laxity.”

WHAT MAKES SUNEKOS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER INJECTABLE SKIN TREATMENTS ON THE MARKET?

“SuneKOS has two main USPs that really give it the edge and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

“Firstly, the high molecular weight and low molecular weight hyaluronic acids are separated. They are injected separately in slightly different areas, which avoids them directly competing with each other for the exact same receptors in the skin, thus improving efficacy.

“SuneKOS also contains the patented amino acid formula, enabling the hyaluronic acid to be activated for longer.”

HOW DOES THE SCIENCE OF AMINO ACIDS AND HYALURONIC ACID WORK TO STIMULATE COLLAGEN AND ELASTIN PRODUCTION?

“Together they are able to stimulate fibroblasts and increase production of not just type one and type three collagen, but also type four collagen, fibronectin and elastin.”

HOW DO YOU APPROACH TEACHING ANATOMY AND INJECTION PRECISION FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS?

“My teaching style is calm, clear, and supportive.

“Personally, I believe that when delegates are at ease, they are able to take in information more easily. I also facilitate a learning environment where you actually ask the questions you’re thinking of.”

HOW IMPORTANT IS ONGOING EDUCATION IN THE EVOLVING WORLD OF BIO-REGENERATIVE TREATMENTS?

“Incredibly, regenerative aesthetics is such a fast-moving field; as medical practitioners, it is our duty to stay up to date with the latest advancements.”

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO BECOME A SUNEKOS TRAINER?

“I really believe it is one of the best products on the market. I’ve been using it for some time in my own clinic, and I can only get behind a brand that I know gives incredible results, while maintaining patient safety at all times.”

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE WILL BE SOME OF THE BIGGEST TRENDS IN THE AESTHETICS SECTOR FOR 2026?

“Aesthetic treatments increasingly won’t be provided in isolation.

“There will be more integration of overall holistic wellness encompassing nutrition, sleep, stress management, supplementati on and lifestyle medicine to optimise patient outcomes.

“I also think there will be a rise in prejuvenation treatments, as I am certainly seeing that a younger patient demographic is emerging, requesting preventative treatments before they have developed any signs of ageing.”
