DEAR READERS

It feels incredible to write my first official Editor’s Letter. Over the past few months, I’ve been finding my feet and getting to know the role and sector. I’ve had the pleasure of crossing paths with so many amazing doctors, nurses, and dentists - all of whom have been incredibly kind and supportive as I take on this new challenge.

I also want to extend a huge thank you to our new Editorial Assistant, Connie Cooper, who has taken the bull by the horns in her first journalistic role.

In this November/December issue, I had the privilege of speaking with Emma Wedgwood, nurse practitioner and independent prescriber. After hearing her story of recovery, I knew it was one that needed to be shared. Her journey is a powerful reminder that addiction does not discriminate and that it is never too late to rebuild your life and career for the better.

This issue also reflects on one of the biggest trends of 2025: the facelift. Once considered an overt and invasive procedure, it has evolved dramatically, thanks in part to celebrity transparency. I spoke with leading UK surgeons about this evolution and exciting innovations such as the “Wide Awake Facelift."

We also took a deep dive into the world of biostimulators, another treatment that has defined the sector this year. Keeping an eye on what’s next, we also explore the trends set to shape aesthetics in 2026.

We’re thrilled to welcome Julie Scott’s first column, Scott Shares. Each month, the nurse practitioner and independent prescriber will offer her reflections on life, her career, and the evolving aesthetics landscape, providing you with actionable advice to grow as a practitioner.

I hope you enjoy this issue as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together. As always, thank you to our brilliant contributors, and to you, our readers.
