GLACĒ FACIAL

Treatment Review

AM sales manager Lisa Merrigan visited the Taktouk Clinic to try out the Glacē treatment from Candela

THE LOWDOWN

Drawing inspiration from the Korean beauty trend known as 'glass skin', this incredibly indulgent treatment offers advanced purification and hydration by integrating hydrodermabrasion, dual cupping massage and LED technology – three solutions in just one session.

THE EXPERIENCE

Nestled in a gorgeous little gated alcove in a residential area, sandwiched between Harvey Nicholas and Harrods, is the Taktouk Clinic (winner of the Aesthetic Clinic of the Year 2023 and 2024). The owner, Dr Wassim Taktouk has created a clinic that provides a calm and serene space, with highly skilled and welcoming staff.

I was shown to the waiting area and provided with refreshments until my therapist Nadia came for me. Settled onto the treatment bed in a room that smelled like heaven's bathroom cabinet, I was lulled into a meditative state.

After a thorough cleanse, I then had a layer of Skin Eclosion Multi-Active Peel applied, whilst I experienced a deep massage.

Then, Nadia used what felt like a little vacuum device, that gently sucked away the build up debris on my skin with the help of a diamond tip exfoliant.

Next up Nadia performed a lymphatic drainage and cupping facial to clear toxins and sculpt the face with selected active serum for my skin concerns. Nadia did tell me that my lymphatic system felt quite blocked, which I put down to not drinking enough water and consuming more alcohol than usual. I could feel the massage draining the fluid away and firming everything up. The treatment finished with a cellulose mask and LED light therapy, Nadia selected the red 630nm light for its soothing action and I drifted off into a deep sleep!

THE VERDICT

I'm totally sold on this treatment and when Nadia handed me a mirror at the end, I could genuinely see a big difference. My skin was absolutely glowing like I'd never seen before, hydrated, dewy and plump. The lymphatic drainage element of the treatment also made a big difference, leaving my face less puffy and more contoured. The Glacē treatment delivers incredible results that last. A week on I am still receiving compliments on how well I am looking. I would particularly suggest having one before a big event to give your skin a little boost.

BUSINESS BENEFITS

Patients leave feeling totally refreshed and rejuvenated, the Glacē treatment pairs advanced technology with versatile serums to deliver a highly personalised treatment for all skin types. This is a great treatment for clients who want a results-driven facial with no downtime. Like any good facial you need regular treatments for long lasting results.
