MARK-VU SKIN ANALYSIS & VIRTUE RF MICRONEEDLING

Deputy editor Kezia Parkins visited Dr Jinah Yoo’s Maylin Clinic to experience a range of Korea Meditech technologies.

THE EXPERIENCE

My time at Dr Jinah Yoo’s Maylin clinic started uniquely by stepping into a chic New York-style art gallery before making my way down the winding staircase to the plush yet sleek finishings. I was greeted by the brand’s sales manager Arian Sadeghipour, who explained the range of Korea Meditech devices I was about to experience with therapist Erin Carter. She started off with a thorough cleanse and consultation before analysing my skin in the Mark-Vu.

The device precisely measures 14 skin concerns, including pore size, melanin concentration, UV-induced pigmentation, sebum production, inflammation and wrinkles before producing an in-depth, highly nuanced report for each patient.

While the device was calibrating my result, Carter got me numbed up for the next stage of treatment. But first, she took me through my analysis results.

I was hoping for it to tell me I had the complexion of a 25-year-old, so I was slightly offended that it aged me as 37, two years older than my actual age, but grateful for the information.

The Mark-Vu revealed that the factors ageing me the most were my enlarged pores and radiance - it showed my skin to be very dry but not dehydrated, suggesting that I could be suffering from trans epidermal water loss (TEWL), Carter explained.

Now it was time for Virtue RF Microneedling with the Korean Glass Skin Protocol that would hopefully help tighten those pores and bring about some glow. Before the needling, Carter applied one of Korea Meditech’s BNV Boosters choosing BNV EXO for me. This product contains G4PRF-300 which includes 26 growth factors and over 300 proteins for wound repair and regeneration. Carter chose it to reduce pore size and to help prevent my monthly hormonal breakout.

I don’t know if it was the numbing cream, the design of the machine or both – but I could not feel a thing. The Virtue RF’s treatment head features 36 ultra-fine gold-coated microneedles. The use of built-in cooling helps reduce pain.

Carter finished off with a chilled sheet mask which felt incredible after the microneedling before settling me under an LED light to reduce redness and inflammation.

THE VERDICT

Trying out this range of cutting-edge devices was so seamless and experiential. It was fascinating to receive such in-depth diagnostics which made me feel armed to tackle any concerns that were ageing me up. The RF microneedling was painless, especially in comparison to similar machines on the market and my skin looked incredible right after treatment. Over the next few weeks my glow and texture continued to improve to the point of receiving a barrage of compliments.

BUSINESS BENEFITS

Consumers, clients and patients are all hooked on the idea of Korean skincare and ‘glass skin,’ so are very keen to try treatments and technologies from there. By introducing one of these technologies you will be ahead of the curve while also being able to deliver outstanding results.
