The Aesthetic Medicine editorial board’s clinical expertise and diverse range of specialities help ensure the magazine meets the needs of the readers. In this issue, we have received guidance from the following members:

DR PAUL CHARLSON

Dr Paul Charlson has been working in aesthetic medicine for more than 20 years, and has performed more than 30,000 procedures. He’s an expert in facial profiling and natural enhancements. His main interests are advanced dermal filler techniques, Sculptra, migraine treatment and aesthetic skin issues, in particular acne scarring. Dr Charlson writes extensively for journals and is a KOL for Galderma and Beauty Europe. He has taught for both Merz and Teoxane.

DR SHIRIN LAKHANI

Dr Shirin Lakhani is a GP and aesthetic practitioner specialising in intimate health, sexual dysfunction, and menopause. A lack of NHS care for women has led Dr Lakhani to offer treatments for Lichen Sclerosus, vaginal atrophy and many more intimate health issues. She is a significant voice of authority within the intimate health space, speaking widely on HRT, the menopause, incontinence, and intimate health.

MR ALI GHANEM

Mr Ali Ghanem is a consultant aesthetic plastic surgeon and clinical senior lecturer in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as visiting professor and head of department of Aesthetic Medicine at the College of Medicine and Dentistry, Ulster University. He is qualified in Medical Law and Ethics, Surgical Science and Developmental and Stem Cell Biology.

DR SABIKA KARIM

Dr Sabika Karim, founder of Skin Medical is a multi-award winning international educator who combines her NHS GP background with 18 years of aesthetic medical practice to deliver gold standard treatments to her patients at the clinic whilst raising industry standards by teaching and training her peers.

VANESSA BIRD

Vanessa Bird has worked for many leading distributors in aesthetics. She uses over a decade of industry experience, knowledge, and connections as The Aesthetic Consultant to understand the specific challenges faced by many successful, high-profile individuals and clinics as she helps them to succeed in the elite ‘top tier’.
