Simone Shoffman, head of education at Healthxchange, answers questions on Obagi Hydrate Light Weightless Gel Cream

TELL US ALL ABOUT THE NEW OBAGI RELEASE

The hotly anticipated Obagi Hydrate Light Weightless Gel Cream is the latest addition to the Obagi Hydrate collection, adding a lightweight consistency option to the range with a plethora of exciting new ingredients.

Hydrate Light was born out of growing consumer demand for lightweight hydrators in the aesthetics and skincare space. It is an exciting trend that Healthxchange and the Obagi global team expect to continue developing all the way up until 2030.

WHAT ARE THE KEY INGREDIENTS IN HYDRATE LIGHT?

Hydrate Light is formulated with an innovative blend of hydrating agents including Hydromanil technology and ingredients such as tara seed extract, polyglutamic acid, ceramides and wine ferment. This powerful combination of ingredients helps to fortify the skin’s barrier while antioxidants fight free radicals from pollution.

HOW DOES HYDRATE LIGHT FIT INTO THE REST OF THE OBAGI MOISTURISING RANGE?

As the range has expanded by two products this year, here is a recap on the key differences in each product within the range and where they fit within your clients’ routines:

• Obagi Hydrate Light – An all-new lightweight texture to the range with aforementioned ingredients to hydrate and protect against free radicals, without any oily residue

• Obagi Hydrate – The eponymous classic from Obagi’s iconic Nu-Derm system, with shea butter and avocado oil that leaves skin feeling healthy and moisturised

• Obagi Hydrate Luxe – Utilising biomimetic peptides, this is the richest hydrator in the range for moisture depleted skin and optimum anti-ageing benefits

• Obagi Rebalance – A treatment, postprocedural moisturiser formulated with post-biotics to help rebuild and rebalance the skin barrier and microbiome.

WHICH SKIN TYPES IS OBAGI HYDRATE LIGHT BEST SUITED FOR?

Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin, Hydrate Light is non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, and fragrance-free. This ensures the formula won’t clog pores or cause irritation, making it an excellent choice for patients with delicate or reactive skin.

WHAT STUDIES HAVE BEEN DONE ON OBAGI HYDRATE LIGHT?

For over 35 years, Obagi has been dedicated to backing up product development with rigorous clinical studies and Hydrate Light is no exception. Based on 2023 two-week-in-use study, Obagi found:

• 95% of study participants agreed their skin looked healthy and felt nourished

• 94% of study participants agreed it felt lightweight on their skin

• 88%of study participants felt it layered well under makeup

At Healthxchange, we know evidence-based products are crucial for clinical excellence and we encourage our customers to utilise the incredible data Obagi provides – it will help strengthen your recommendations to clients and increase their home routine compliance.

Obagi Hydrate Light launches exclusively to the UKI Obagi Ambassador Network from August 1 and is available for general orders from September 1 via Healthxchange E-Pharmacy.
