High-tech facials: SKINSTORM FACIAL AT LAMURE AESTHETIC CLINIC

Contributing reporter Kezia Parkins went to Lamure Aesthetic Clinic to experience her first Skinstorm Facial

THE LOWDOWN

The Skinstorm Facial layers six unique elements to intensively rejuvenate, repair, super cleanse, resurface, smooth and actively attack congestion. Meanwhile, patented dissolvable oxygen infusion and active ingredients travel to where they are needed to help kill bacteria and drone technology is driven down to create a ‘mattress effect’ to plump and firm.

THE EXPERIENCE

The first element of the facial is the Hurricane Oxy Ice Cleanse using a niacinamide and vitamin c cleanser which helped dislodge any dirt and debris sitting within the pores, then a suction treatment head which acts as a ‘vortex cleanser’ combines dissolved pure oxygen and chills the skin to just above freezing while the vacuum effect literally lifts out impurities.

Infusing pure dissolvable oxygen allows the oxygen content to be driven deeper into the skin cells which are naturally powered by oxygen to restore radiance. Cold temperatures destress the skin eliminating downtime and helping the skin respond optimally to the treatment.

Next was the Resurface and Heal step which modernises microdermabrasion by incorporating red and blue restorative light therapies. Red light helps with collagen and elastin while blue light is antibacterial and healing. This was a lot more comfortable than I expected, in fact the physical exfoliation felt really nice.

Thirdly it was time for the Oxy Ice Peel and Anti-Acne Bacterialisation Peel which contains five acids including glycolic, citric, lactic which help to resurface and regenerate the cells. It was a little tingly as the treatment head infused the peel into my skin and my therapist, Emily Farrell massaged it in gently but only very mildly.

Then, she went in next with Tri Fusion Light Therapy which used blue and red light, but this time under a hood, to max out the benefits for the whole face before going into the microneedling step using a 0.5 needle and FGF10 serum containing plant stem cells, hyalauronic acid and vitamin C. The chilled roller is applied and creates microscopic channels prompting the skin to activate its ‘collagen boosting’ response. Meanwhile, the patented Hylo-Filler drone serum is driven into the channels created to restructure, repair, stimulate collagen production, hydrate and visibly plump.

Then, it was back under the light to help calm, sooth and further promote collagen production and create an antibacterial layer.

After that, it was time for oxygen therapy to create that ‘mattress effect’ and an instant lift still using the FGF10 serum while a treatment head pumped oxygen and the serum into those microchannels. Farrell also used it to contour my face and the difference from one side to the other was incredible.

The Cryogen Rebalancing Mask was the final (and my favourite) step, containing spirulina and seaweed. The longer it’s left on, the cooler and more refreshing it gets, making it great for reactive, red and rosacea skin. It felt amazing as it went on, after all the technologies my skin had experienced and was immediately soothing. The peel-off was as satisfying as I expected.

THE VERDICT

This was an incredibly high-tech facial, but still gentle enough to have zero downtime. The combination of technologies allowed for visible instant snatching results with continued results over time and is a great option for all skin types. My skin looked and felt amazing after this treatment; it was clear, with reduced texture and a radiant glow. It’s now one of my favourite facials.

BUSINESS BENEFITS

The Skinstorm facial can be used on all ages and skin types with results clients will instantly love. The tech and the peel off mask make the treatment highly Instagrammable and marketable, and you can tailor the treatment to any client.
