WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER ISSUE OF AESTHETIC MEDICINE
You may not recognise me (yet!) as I joined the magazine at the end of September. I am delighted to be working in such an exciting and innovative industry and I look forward to meeting more ofyou soon. For my first weekend with the magazine, I attended Aesthetic Medicine North, which allowed me to get stuck in and chat with a lot of notable figures in the aesthetics industry. I was also able to meet Vicky Eldridge, who has been a guiding force for the magazine for around two decades! Don’t worry, she won’t be going far, as she is staying on in the role of consultant editor. This month, we are launching our Aesthetic Medicine conference and exhibition at the RDS in Dublin, with some of the best aesthetic doctors and nurses practising in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland coming to speak at the event. In this issue, we discuss how to introduce a new laser into your clinic (p72-74), what you need to know about the role genetics plays in skin health (p76-78) and how tattoos can affect your employment prospects in the sector (p92-93). As well as this, we look at the findings of a new report from Driving Racial Equality in Aesthetic Medicine (DREAM) (p20), and Dr Ana Christina Diniz Silva explores why the industry must lead the way in driving regulatory change (p14-16). This is the last issue for 2022 but, in the meantime, we will continue to bring you news and updates regularly via the website and newsletters. I always welcome your views and comments so please email me at anna.d@thepbgroup.com
