Our last issue of the year has a special focus on areas of medicine that have historically been hushed, hidden and labelled as “women’s issues”. As the single largest patient demographic across the entirety of the aesthetic medicine specialty, it’s time we made more of an effort to support female health within our remit, and to help shed the stigma preventing many women from accessing the life-changing treatments now available. With an aesthetic nurse practitioner spurred on by her own experience to empower fellow women to take back control over their bodies (pages 57-59), a hormone doctor exploring the wonders of modern HRT on the skin (pages 48-50); and a menopause specialist who wants to share her knowledge (pages 62-63), these women are paving the way.
