ELEVATING CLINICAL PRACTICE: TREATING OXO-INFLAMM-AGEING

Consultant dermatologist, Dr Angela Tewari, explains why she uses SkinCeuticals to treat patients with a disrupted skin barrier.

DR ANGELA TEWARI

Dr Angela Tewari is a consultant dermatologist and founder of Dermatology Studios, a medical and aesthetic dermatology clinic in Chelsea.

In her clinic, she treats a variety of skin conditions that require a clinical diagnosis, as well as patients who are keen to look rejuvenated and refreshed. She also assess and removes moles.

She believes it is important to understand that a disrupted skin barrier plays a key role in the rise in inflammation and a disruption in skin health and has chosen to partner with SkinCeuticals as she feels the science behind the products mirrors what she needs in her dermatology clinic.

ADDRESSING OXO-INFLAMM-AGEING AND BEYOND

Longevity and oxidative stress promote what we call oxo-inflamm-ageing, which is behind not only skin ageing but also certain inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis. Thus, using the right antioxidant for all my patients can not only kick start replenishing the skin barrier but also mitigates downstream skin complaints.

STRATEGIC INTEGRATION FOR OPTIMAL PATIENT OUTCOMES

The SkinCeuticals team is wonderful, and I have chosen specific routines tailored to the dermatological diagnoses that I make in clinic, alongside evidence-based dermatology medications.

With aesthetic treatments such as injection-based therapies or microneedling, there are certain products that help optimise these treatment outcomes.

SkinCeuticals RGN-6 stands out as an exceptional anti-inflammatory treatment cream. RGN-6 is ideal for use after procedures that trigger an inflammatory response and stimulate skin cell rejuvenation, and it is also highly beneficial for inflammatory skin conditions such as rosacea or for conditions involving a disrupted skin barrier, including perioral dermatitis.

My patients have a tailored SkinCeuticals consultation, selecting the most suitable skincare to support their skin concerns.

They can purchase these products during their visit, and any recommendations are followed up on and tailored regularly.
