There's a new laser in town

Laser technology has amazing skin-rejuvenating capabilities, and tweakment-conscious consumers are realising that they don’t have to turn to needles to look fresher and younger. But there’s a caveat – most laser skin treatments that are effective require anaesthetic application to make the procedure bearable for patients, and many aren’t suitable for dark skins. This is where UltraClear comes in.

The world’s only cold ablative fiber laser platform, UltraClear is the first ablative laser that doesn’t require topical numbing for most treatments and is truly painless. The UltraClear platform – at an optimal wavelength of 2910nm – can perform high-speed treatments on all skin types with unparalleled energy control capabilities, offering a full range of skin-rejuvenation outcomes from zero-downtime ‘lunchtime’ treatments to advanced collagen remodelling.

LASER CORING

The first-of-its-kind advancement: Laser-Coring -This advanced technique delivers outstanding cosmetic results, particularly for deep wrinkles and deep scars, helping patients achieve smoother, younger-looking skin.

Compounding effect -The combination of tissue coring, and laser rejuvenation creates a compounding effect, resulting in fast collagen contraction and remarkable cosmetic outcomes.

Less bleeding, less discomfort, less downtime -With Laser-Coring, patients can experience minimal bleeding, reduced discomfort, and shorter downtime, making it a more comfortable and convenient option for skin rejuvenation.

Customisable treatment plan: Laser-Coring -Laser-Coring can be seamlessly incorporated into a customised UltraClear resurfacing treatment plan, allowing providers to selectively use all modes for optimal results.

No consumables -Laser-Coring eliminates the need for consumables, streamlining the treatment process and making it more cost-effective for both providers and patients.

Limited thermal damage -Laser-Coring minimises bulk heating and collateral thermal damage, ensuring targeted treatment and improved safety for patients.

3DINTELLIPULSE TECHNOLOGY

3DIntellipulse Technology is the technology behind UltraClear’s comfort. It ensures the laser’s output is a perfect balance of cold and thermal energy and it delivers micro-pulses to minimise pain. Whereas conventional lasers deliver the energy into the skin in one punch, UltraClear divides the energy into micro-pulses, making for a much more tolerable treatment.

Q&A WITH DR AMIEE VYAS

What’s the problem with lasers and skin of colour?

“The more heat that is applied to a darker skin tone during energy-based treatments, the higher the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). So, while you may be addressing a certain skin concern, the final result may be compromised by PIH. In the past, treating skin of colour with an ablative laser was not possible due to the high pigment content in the skin – putting high energy into the skin would cause excessive heating to the cells, risking PIH.”

How does UltraClear make treating skin of colour possible?

“The UltraClear laser delivers cold fractional ablation and dialled-in coagulation at the same time and at the same location. This means that less heat is put into the skin with this treatment, minimising complications and risks associated with other resurfacing lasers.

“UltraClear deposits less thermal energy, which is what usually causes PIH. As a comparison, with CO2 laser emission, 40% of the energy ablates (removes the top layer of the skin) and 60% is unwanted thermal energy. Contrary, with UltraClear, 95% of the energy ablates and just 5% is thermal energy, which is why it’s called ‘cold’ ablative, and why it hurts less and heals faster. By reducing the amount of heat applied into the skin it therefore allows skin of colour to be treated safely with a fractional laser for the first time.”
