Learn how Celluma Light Therapy can help enhance the patient experience

Research shows low-level light therapy (LLLT), or photobiomodulation, can decrease a patient’s recovery time by increasing micro-circulation and decreasing edema, inflammation, and pain levels, generally improving overall patient outcomes. It is ideally suited following any ablative procedure, as well as pre-and post-surgery, to prepare tissue for trauma and help expedite the healing process after invasive treatments.

The award-winning Celluma SERIES of light therapy devices can be used clinically as a powerful stand-alone or adjunctive modality following various services, including laser, microdermabrasion, microneedling, peels, injections and much more.

The device is CE Marked as a Class lla Medical Device and is FDA cleared for indications as well as for wound healing acceleration after ablative laser resurfacing of facial skin. Light therapy is an excellent solution for the treatment of chronic, slow and non-healing wounds.

The therapeutic benefits of low-level light therapy has been demonstrated in thousands of clinical studies, articles, and peer-reviewed literature demonstrating the mechanism for action is cellular absorption of photons (light energy) and the increased production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the form of energy that cells utilise to fuel cellular activity.

The resulting ATP is then used to power metabolic processes, including synthesizing DNA, RNA, and the proteins and enzymes needed to repair or regenerate cells.

LIGHT FANTASTIC

Benefits of low-level light therapy include:

• LLLT has been shown to accelerate tissue repair, decrease wound size, accelerate the resolution of erythema, accelerate wound closure, and prevent dehiscence¹.

• LLLT prior to surgery may reduce the incidence of hypertrophic scars and keloids ².

• Ongoing post-surgery photo-rejunvenation² (activation of fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin, stimulation of keratinocytes, which produce keratin to provide structural strength to the skin).

• Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation prevention².

• Activation of mast, macrophage, and neutrophil cells decrease inflammation and protect against infection.

• LLLT is anti-bacterial. The presence of C-acne bacteria can lead to post-operative infections, particularly in shoulder surgery. Using the Celluma prior to surgery will decrease the presence of this bacteria.
