SKINCEUTICALS’ MASTER AESTHETICIANS
The Cinema at Selfridges, Mayfair
On May 15, SkinCeuticals hosted its first in-person Master Aesthetician event of 2025 at the chic cinema space within Selfridges, London. Former editor Anna Dobbie was in attendance, soaking up a day filled with insight, connection, and inspiration.
SkinCeuticals is the first, and currently only, aesthetic skincare brand to offer a professional development programme tailored specifically to aestheticians. The exclusive Master Aesthetician programme is a year-long initiative comprising three virtual and two in-person events, culminating in a graduation ceremony that celebrates participants’ growth both professionally and personally.
The Selfridges event followed the programme’s virtual kick-off and brought together an impressive lineup of expert speakers. Dean Kayden of Happy Mind opened with a powerful session on mindset, resilience, and personal growth. The Aesthetic Consultant Vanessa Bird delivered a high-energy talk on sales strategies and client consultation excellence, while Michelle Cochrane, head of SkinCeuticals education UK & Ireland, alongside partners from BTL and Crown Aesthetics, unveiled two exciting new product innovations poised to elevate practice results.
Attendees enjoyed curated catering, dynamic networking with peers, and plenty of Instagram-worthy photo moments to mark the occasion. The private cinema setting added a sense of Hollywood glamour and intimacy to a packed day of professional enrichment.
With its thoughtful blend of education, personal development, and community, the SkinCeuticals Master Aesthetician Program is redefining how brands engage and support aesthetic professionals. As the second event in this pioneering journey approaches, anticipation is already building for what’s next.

On May 15, former editor Anna Dobbie was among the guests at an exclusive breakfast event, which offered a first look at two exciting innovations from the brand’s professional-only portfolio. Guests were treated to a deep dive into the brand’s most advanced brightening duo yet: the Extra Strength Active Peel Brightening System and the Flash Brightening Peel Treatment. Both are designed for in-clinic use and harness cutting-edge science to target dullness, uneven tone, and texture with impressive efficacy. These treatments, available exclusively through skincare professionals, mark a bold step forward in results-driven aesthetic skincare.
Celebrity skin specialist Nilam Holmes led the session, sharing expert insights into how the new formulations fit into clinical treatment plans and what sets them apart in a competitive market. Known for her work with A-list clientele, Holmes provided practical advice on integrating these peels into practice while maintaining a results-first, skin-respecting approach.
Beyond the innovation, the morning was steeped in style and warmth. The Lanesborough’s plush setting lent a luxurious tone, and a highlight of the day was a chance encounter with the hotel’s resident feline celebrity, Lilibet, who charmed attendees and even made time for a photo with Anna.
JANE IREDALE LAUNCH EVENT
The Greenhouses, Marylebone
On May 15, the lush and light-filled Greenhouses venue played host to a radiant comeback for skin-first makeup brand, Jane Iredale. Former editor Anna Dobbie joined beauty insiders and industry professionals to celebrate the launch of Skintuition, the brand’s new SPF 30 Radiance-Boosting Liquid Foundation.
Long known as a pioneer in clean, skin-loving cosmetics, Jane Iredale is back with a refreshed look and a renewed mission: to deliver glow-worthy coverage that nurtures the skin. The event, hosted in partnership with distribution agency Healthxchange, was a stylish yet intimate affair filled with cocktails, canapés, and candid conversation.
The highlight of the afternoon was an exclusive in-conversation masterclass led by beauty journalist Nadine Baggott. Joining her on stage were Shawne Towne, Jane Iredale’s brand education director and celebrated makeup artist, and Melissa Tattum, podcaster and clean beauty advocate. The trio discussed the philosophy behind Skintuition, shared expert application tips, and explored the evolving definition of timeless beauty in today’s world.
The new foundation wowed attendees with its skin-enhancing formula, offering radiant coverage, broad-spectrum sun protection, and the kind of lightweight wear that’s ideal for both everyday use and professional application.
FILLMED SUMMER SYMPOSIUM
Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel
Deputy editor Kezia Parkins was invited to Fillmed’s annual Summer Symposium dedicated to The Future of Aesthetic Innovation: Advancing Techniques & Breakthrough Treatments.
The Symposium was held at the luxury Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel and featured an incredible lineup of talks from some of the industry’s most influential voices, including Dr Ash Labib, Dr Raquel Amado, Dr Baldeep Farmah, and Dr Tim Eldridge. The experts shared valuable and fascinating insights on everything from transformative case studies and effective techniques, to sessions dedicated to ‘Ozempic face’, AI’s role in the future of aesthetic medicine and psychedelics as a new frontier of mental health management.
After a delicious lunch and rubbing shoulders with the doctors in attendance, like our former cover star Dr Kathryn Taylor-Barnes, the brand unveiled its latest innovations -Juvelook.
The product is an injectable dermal bio-stimulator skin rejuvenation treatment that uses a unique hybrid formula combining hyaluronic acid (HA) and poly D, L-lactic acid (PDLLA) to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture.
3D SYMPOSIUM OF SKIN

Hosted by 3D Aesthetics, the Symposium of Skin brought together leading clinical voices, expert practitioners and top suppliers for a packed day of insight and innovation in non-surgical aesthetics.
Features editor Ellen Cummings attended the event, where the conference offered a mix of expert-led education and practical strategies, with sessions covering facial anatomy, menopause care, regenerative medicine, post-procedure recovery, and emerging tech such as AI-led consultations and exosome therapy. Speakers like Megan Crowhurst, Anna Baker and Tracey Dennison delivered talks that kept the audience engaged throughout the day.
Beyond the conference room, attendees explored an exhibition showcase featuring brands like Hydropeptide and Vagaro, while Professional Beauty and sister brand Aesthetic Medicine welcomed delegates to their stand to share information about our magazines, trade shows and awards.
OPATRA WELLNESS DAY
Glass House Retreat, Essex
Aesthetics devices brand Opatra took over Essex spa Glass House Retreat for a wonderful day of wellness. Kezia went along and was greeted with a beautiful breakfast before exploring ayurvedic techniques such as lymphatic drainage and naval oiling with Dimple Amani before learning more about Opatra’s wide range of devices. Before lunch Kezia got to try Opatra’s Pelvio chair, which not only improves pelvic floor muscles but can also help with menstrual cramps. After, the guests, which included a lovely group of therapists, spa consultants and doctors such as Dr Shirin Lakhani and Dr Mayoni Gooneratne, heard from award-winning facialist Smita Ahluwalia about how to layer treatments and technologies to achieve best results for menopausal clients. The day concluded with a calming sound bath and reflective mat session led by event host Charlotte Body, where participants engaged in meaningful conversation about women’s health and ways to uplift one another.
MEDIK8 RENEWAL AND RADIANCE RETREAT
Templeton Gardens, London
Medik8 hosted a tranquil overnight Renewal and Radiance Retreat at London’s Templeton Garden hotel, giving beauty press – including Kezia and Ellen – a first look at two exciting launches: the C-Tetra Advanced vitamin C serum and the Crystal Retinal Age-Defying Facial created in collaboration with celebrity facialist Michaella Bolder which Kezia got to experience. Everyone was then treated to a dinner at the on-site restaurant Pippin’s, where master facialist Michaella Bolder shared insights into her creating the facial with Medik8. Guests then snoozed peacefully in the hotel’s plush beds and woke up to a vitamin C-themed breakfast and presentation by Medik8’s head of product strategy, innovation and research, Hannah Biggerstaff, who delved into the science behind the brand’s most advanced vitamin C yet.
