High-tech facials: Skeyndor Megan

THE LOWDOWN

It was my first time meeting Sam Halai at her clinic Boutique by Sam as well as my first Skeyndor treatment, and honestly, I don’t know how I have gone so long without them both.

Megan is a really exciting device that combines three proven technologies - radiofrequency, mesotherapy, and LED light therapy.

THE EXPERIENCE

After a thorough double cleanse, Halai proceeded with the first part of the treatment the ‘Hi-Freq’ radiofrequency step. It felt amazing as she used the warm treatment head to glide over my face with the Megan gel. Its water-free formula allows the therapist to work at higher temperatures more safely. The warmth of the radiofrequency made the muscles in my face relax quickly, while the heated treatment bed relaxed the rest of me. As the device moved over my skin, so did Halai’s expert hands. I could feel her 30 years of experience as she performed thorough lymphatic drainage to remove all fluid from under my skin, starting from the neck up.

The high-frequency monopolar capacitive current, combined with the high-performance conductive gel, stimulates, regenerates and reshapes the skin at its deepest layers of tissue. Halai explained that, while I would see tightening and snatching results straight after the first session, the full benefits would be apparent in a few weeks.

The next step was ‘Dermaboost’ mesotherapy, which was combined with LED red green blue (RGB). Dermaboost increases penetration and improves the absorption of the LED active ingredients thanks to hydroelectroporation currents.

Halai explained that the device, which was first developed to deliver medicine straight to cancer tumours, penetrates each cell with ‘cosmetic drone technology’, a super advanced active ingredient delivery system in which micro capsules come loaded with ‘cellular GPS’ that allows the active ingredient to pinpoint and reach the target cells. It sounds like science fiction, but its not!

Each beam of light – red, green or blue – penetrates different skin levels and is applied with a specific concentrate for each need: pores, brightness, firmness, blemishes, wrinkles, sagging. For me, the main concern was brightness.

THE VERDICT

I thoroughly enjoyed this facial. It was one of those that was truly enjoyable and relaxing – no needles, no numbing and no pain. That is what makes the innovation behind the facial so incredible – the technologies it combines, while being very gentle, are also super effective.

Immediately after the treatment, my skin looked tight, sculpted and snatched, with zero puffiness and a reduced appearance in pore size. Over the next few weeks, my skin should become clearer with a more even skin tone and a luminous glow.
