High-tech facials: HydraTite
This month, Professional Beauty deputy editor Kezia Parkins tries the HydraTite Facial at Regent’s Park Aesthetics
THE LOWDOWN:
HydraTite is a unique combination of two transformative skin treatments: the HydraFacial and Forma radiofrequency based skin tightening.
The radiofrequency (RF) treatment can be used to banish wrinkles, stimulate collagen production in the skin and improve elasticity for a more youthful appearance and is loved by the likes of celebs Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, and Amber Rose.
It aims to lift, tighten, and brighten skin to define facial features and natural contours.
THE EXPERIENCE:
I arrived at the lovely Regent’s Park Aesthetic clinic on an icy and dreary day in January.
I hadn’t managed to squeeze in a facial before Christmas and my skin was feeling tight from dryness caused by the cold weather and a little worse for wear thanks to indulging in the spoils of the season.
Before we got into the radiofrequency stage, lovely holistic facial therapist Audrey Horca kicked off with the most thorough facial lymphatic drainage treatment I have ever experienced. I appreciated this after recently reporting on the current buzz around manual lymphatic drainage and how it can improve the results of any aesthetic treatment.
The massage helped to get me into a relaxed state before Audrey gave my tired and dull skin a full Hydrafacial treatment which was needed to help exfoliate my dry and weather-beaten face and to unclog my pores.
With my face feeling supple and fresh it was now time for the second part of the combination treatment. The Forma harnesses a heated wand which uses RF technology to heat the skin’s cells encouraging an increase of collagen production.
This step was lovely and warming, but completely painless and felt like what I imagine a hot stone massage would be like.
Forma’s patented wand uses non-ablative bipolar RF energy with an in-built temperature feedback control to target deep layers of the skin so no area is under or over-treated, ensuring consistent results. This type of RF treatment has been shown in clinical studies to significantly improve skin quality whilst reducing the risks of side effects associated with older forms of RF technology.
THE VERDICT:
The Forma RF was the cherry on top of this combination of treatments. The warmth that radiated from the handset felt delightful on the skin, especially after being outside in the freezing January wind. The whole experience was lovely and relaxing, only disturbed by the noise of the Forma machine. While not an issue for me, the sound the machine makes could be a little jarring to some patients with sensory issues so perhaps some noise-cancelling headphones on standby wouldn’t go amiss.
Immediately after the treatment, I had a healthy glow and, in the weeks following, I noticed that my skin was noticeably smoother with my makeup gliding on effortlessly.
BUSINESS BENEFITS:
People of any age can benefit from Forma treatments. For younger patients, the procedure can help brighten and rejuvenate, acting as a preventative for future ageing. Meanwhile, for older patients, the treatment’s ability to lift, ‘iron out’ and tighten skin makes it amazing for lines, wrinkles, and improving skin texture.
As Forma is non-invasive and quick to do (taking less than 30 minutes) it can easily be combined with other skin treatments, such as the Hydrafacial, mesotherapy, Profhilo and injectables, making it a great add-on for your clients’ bespoke treatment protocols.
Plus, results can be seen from one session with longer-lasting results (up to four years) after having regular treatments.
