Treatment review: HYDRAGENESIS

THE LOWDOWN

Hydragenesis is Time Clinic’s signature combination protocol, merging the popular HydraFacial with the advanced XEO+ Genesis laser to target multiple skin concerns in one session. This new innovation from Cutera has a larger spot size for more comfort, speed and depth. The HydraFacial deep cleans and resurfaces the skin, while the laser works on the dermis to boost collagen, improve tone, and reduce redness and scarring.

The treatment begins with a GlySal peel to soften the skin and prep it for extractions. Using beta hydroxy acids, the HydraFacial’s signature vortex suction then clears out dead skin cells, blackheads, excess oil, and impurities from deep within the pores.

After this, the focus shifts from exfoliation to regeneration. The XEO+ Genesis laser gently heats the skin’s deeper layers to stimulate collagen and elastin production, support the microvascular system, and improve pigmentation, redness, and capillaries. This laser is safe for all skin types including skin of colour and is one of the few non-ablative lasers with no downtime.

What sets the XEO+ Genesis apart is its ability to treat at two different depths for skin rejuvenation and scarring, allowing for a more tailored and comfortable experience depending on the patient’s needs.

To finish, the HydraFacial steps back in with LED light therapy, which calms inflammation, regulates acne bacteria, and supports overall skin healing and rejuvenation.

THE EXPERIENCE

I was impressed that the therapist took a more gentle and methodical approach to extractions, which produced better results than I have had previously from a HydraFacial, particularly on the nose. It was so satisfying to see all the gunk that came out!

I found the laser treatment to be surprisingly relaxing. The XEO+ Genesis laser was completely comfortable, with a sensation described as warm but not irritating. Unlike many resurfacing lasers, it has no downtime, making it a popular ‘lunchtime laser’ for busy schedules. The entire HydraGenesis treatment took around 75 minutes.

A few days after the treatment, I noticed a clear improvement in skin texture and tone. The glow I had straight after was great, but the real benefits kicked in a couple of days later. My skin looked clearer, smoother, and more balanced.

THE VERDICT

HydraGenesis is a clever, clinically backed combination that goes beyond surface-level skincare. By targeting both the outer and deeper layers of the skin, it delivers impressive results without discomfort or downtime.

Whether you’re dealing with dullness, congestion, pigmentation, or early signs of ageing, this treatment offers a bespoke approach that’s safe for all skin tones and delivers both immediate and long-term benefits.
