Treatment review: FACIAL BALANCING WITH AURA

Editor Anna Dobbie visits Dr Sophie Shotter to try the new imaging system

THE LOWDOWN:

The Aura 3D Imaging System uses multiple cameras and lights to create an accurate 3D digital model of patients' faces and necks. Additionally, it provides real-time data of the skin, including skin analysis for pores, brown spots, red areas and texture, capturing different facial expressions, visualising measurements of angles and distances, and assessing volume differences and lifting effects after treatments.

THE EXPERIENCE:

This was my first experience of being treated by Dr Sophie Shotter and I was very excited as I follow her work closely and am always impressed by her results. During my consultation, she utilised the Aura 3D Imaging System to conduct a thorough facial scan, providing a holistic view of my facial structure. Dr Shotter identified that my chin was slightly undersized, contributing to a perceived facial weakness and the appearance of a double chin. She recommended a small amount of filler to the lower face to enhance my facial contours, and I trust Dr Shotter's expertise. She also gave me a full list of products to prep my skin with, which were kindly sent to me by GetHarley, including Meder RedAax, Revision C+ Corrective Serum and Revision Intellishade SPF45. She used a cannula to insert half a ml Juvederm Voluma per side to my lateral zygoma and half a ml per side to my preauricular area, a total of one ml per side to create a back-pin and restore the lateral structure of my face. She then used half a ml Volux per side of my lower face with a needle for the angle of my jaw to create structure and again to help support my tissues backwards and back-pin. Finally, Dr Shotter also used half a ml per side with a cannula to my anterior jawline to give some strength to my anterior mandible, and add framework and support to improve the appearance of the double chin. The treatment was swift and minimally discomforting, with immediate results.

THE VERDICT:

Post-treatment, my chin was visibly more pronounced, decreasing the appearance of my double chin and significantly improving my overall facial symmetry in real life as well as on the Aura images. I am very happy with the outcome as it has improved my self-esteem without a massive amount of time or fuss. The transformative impact of this minor adjustment on my overall appearance is truly remarkable.

BUSINESS BENEFITS:

Apart from its technological prowess, offering a new level of detail in skin analysis and communication with the patients, the Aura 3D Imaging System stands out for its compact and sleek design. It is user-friendly, making it easy for any of your clinic staff to utilise, enhancing productivity, and focusing on patient consultations and treatment planning.
