High Tech Facials…
Professional Beauty deputy editor Kezia Parkins is back at the gorgeous Lisa Franklin Clinic to try the CACI Synergy Purifying Facial
THE LOWDOWN
The CACI Synergy Purifying Facial treatment combines anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory red and blue LED light therapy to heal the skin and trigger tissue repair with orbital microdermabrasion using an ultrasonic actuator to exfoliate the skin. ETR (enhanced tissue repair) pads are also placed on specific areas of concern, as is a skin-repairing ‘wrinkle comb’, and the treatment is finished off with a cool gel face mask – perfect for this sweaty summer heat. This facial can be performed with either the new Purifying Silver Mask or the Hydro Mask, depending on the client’s skin at the time.
THE EXPERIENCE
I returned to the Lisa Franklin Clinic for my second column in a row. They have so many great devices and technologies to try out, and I was happy to see my new favourite beauty therapist Candice again.
The treatment started with a luxurious cleanse with Lisa Franklin’s signature products and some manual lymphatic drainage using a rose quartz gua sha, which never fails to put me at ease.
The next step used the ultrasonic actuator handpiece containing ceramic/quartz transducers that, when excited by an electrical current, emit rapid vibrations of 27,000 per second. The vibrations propel impurities to the skin surface and cause dead skin cells to become dislodged and increase blood flow. The handpiece, which can be set to specific frequencies to enhance the absorption of skincare products using ultrasound waves, is then used to deeply cleanse and gently exfoliate the epidermis. This is the gentler of the two options available for the first step – the other is orbital microdermabrasion.
Next, it was time for the ETR pads, which can be placed over areas of concern to help tone. Candice then used the CACI probes to help plump any fine lines, followed by the wrinkle comb, which transmits high-frequency electrical stimulation simultaneously with LED light, to stimulate an increase in elastin and collagen.
Candice used a combination of red and blue LED in an alternating pulser to both encourage skin rejuvenation and promote tissue healing while calming my slightly inflamed skin. She then used the actuator on my cheeks where I had some inflammation and scarring, working the nib diagonally and in a circular motion for a few seconds.
Finally, Candice put the Hydro Mask on before performing a lymphatic drainage massage, with a combination of red and blue LED light. Then she massaged in any extra serum and applied CACI’s Amino-Lift Peptise Complex and some SPF.
THE VERDICT
I loved every step of this facial and was fascinated by how much tech was involved and how Candice was able to hone in on all of my areas of concern, including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, dryness on my cheeks and a little scarring from picking hormonal acne. My skin looked flawless immediately after and I received so many compliments.
The sheet mask felt cooling, calming and comforting. I was hoping to try the new Purifying Silver Mask because of how gorgeous and sparkly it looks, but the Hydro Mask is better for mattifying and calming oily and problematic skin and my skin is still slightly dry from a previous microneedling treatment.
BUSINESS BENEFITS
One of the things I loved about this facial, aside from the incredible way it made my skin feel, was how aesthetic it was.
This facial, with or without the colloidal silver sheet mask, is very Instagramable. Your clients will not be able to resist snapping and sharing pictures and videos of the procedure!
CACI recommends treatment prices start from £50. Lisa Franklin Clinic’s Skin Detox costs £185 for a one-hour treatment.
