Sales director Lisa Morrin visited City Medispa, to experience the UltraClear Deep Coring treatment with Dr Pratish

THE LOWDOWN

Having followed the impressive clinical results associated with advanced laser skin resurfacing, I was eager to try the UltraClear treatment myself, so off I went to City Medispa, where Dr Pratish has incorporated UltraClear into his rejuvenation offerings.

UltraClear is a cold fibre laser platform that combines advanced fractional technology with customisable treatment protocols to improve skin quality, texture and firmness while stimulating collagen production deep within the dermis.

THE EXPERIENCE

Dr Pratish is medical director of City Medispa and is renowned for his natural-looking results, and gentle approach, so I knew I was in excellent hands for my first-ever laser treatment.

I had met Dr Pratish on my initial video consultation and before my actual appointment we had lots of communications as to what to expect, so I really felt at ease on the day.

Following the application of topical anaesthetic and some steroid injections around the eye area to insert the eye covers, the procedure began.

Despite being described as an advanced resurfacing treatment that vaporises tiny slivers of skin at targeted depths to contract tissue and smooth wrinkles, including deep folds, discomfort was surprisingly minimal, and we chatted all the way through. Thanks to Cool Laser Tech, which uses a 3D-intelligent erbium fibre laser, unwanted thermal heating and, therefore, side effects are reduced.

The sensation was best described as intermittent warmth combined with a light prickling feeling as the laser went to work, and the treatment itself was completed in just under an hour.

When finished, Dr Prakash placed a copper peptide face mask from DermapenWorld, which delivered some much-needed hydration and cooling back into my skin.

Immediately afterwards, my skin appeared flushed, much like moderate sunburn, along with swelling. So, with sunglasses on, I made my way home as quickly as I could. Over the following 48 hours, the redness steadily subsided, leaving only a red and raised ‘grid mark’ texture, so I retreated from public appearance for the weekend.

To help with the recovery, I was given Neova’s CU3 Tissue Repair, which I used religiously, as it speeds recovery and contains a copper peptide complex to help with itching and crusting and to reduce the likelihood of scarring. Pure Tone also provided me with their Glow LED Light Therapy face mask, which I had on the yellow setting for 10 mins a day and felt this really helped calm my skin and aid the recovery process.

After about four days of real downtime, things started to improve, and I could see a real difference in my skin brightness and tone, but the most significant changes emerged over the following weeks as collagen remodelling continued. My complexion appeared smoother, pores looked more refined, and people commented on how well I looked. Results will continue to improve as collagen remodelling continues and final results can be seen after three to six months.

THE VERDICT

UltraClear’s Deep Coring bridges the gap between treatments offering little more than temporary radiance and more aggressive resurfacing procedures that require significant downtime.

Combined with Dr Pratish’s expertise and patient-centred approach, the overall experience was reassuring from consultation through to recovery. This is amazing for patients seeking long-term improvements in skin quality with manageable downtime.
