Sligo-based nurse Claudia McGloin, consultant oculoplastic surgeon Jenny Doyle and The Aesthetic Consultant Vanessa Bird recently presented at a dermatology conference in Bangkok, Thailand. McGloin was the only Irish medical professional to be invited by the scientific committee to speak at The International Congress of Aesthetic Dermatology (ICAD). She talked about platelet-rich plasma and blindness as part of the “It’s Complicated -Navigating the Challenges of Complication Management” session. ICAD is the leading aesthetic dermatology congress in Asia, renowned as a platform for high-level education and networking for professionals seeking excellence.

While visiting the UK, AestheticSource marketing manager Elly Makinson took editor Anna Dobbie for brunch to discuss Revision Skincare’s latest product, C+ Brightening Eye Complex. Makinson described the complex, which is formulated with 10% THD ascorbate (a stable and potent form of vitamin C), as the “only under-eye treatment to decongest the microvascular network to reduce dark circles and under-eye puffiness”.

Salon and clinic management software brand Phorest welcomed more than 600 delegates from the UK, Ireland and the US to its annual conference in Dublin on January 7–8 for two days of networking, education and partying. AM’s head of editorial Eve Oxberry joined the event, which hosted a diverse speaker line-up, including Sharmadean Reid, MBE entrepreneur and founder of women’s empowerment platform The Stack World, on finding the human story in the data and TV hypnotist and brain hacker Keith Barry, who wowed the crowd. Bingo Loco brought the entertainment on the Sunday night and the event wrapped with a lively after-party on the Monday.
