Welcome to the May issue of Aesthetic Medicine

This month has flown by! One of my highlights was attending Hydrafacial’s Syndeo launch hosted by the fabulous Cherry Healey (as you can probably tell from the photo on page 22). It made me appreciate how lucky I am to be part of such an amazing industry.

Speaking of events, it’s not long now until AM Live and the Aesthetic Medicine Awards. This month, I joined a distinguished panel of judges to evaluate your awards entries and find out more about the great work of those at the forefront of their sector. I don’t envy the judges; they had to make some very tough decisions because there were so many strong entries. Everyone’s a winner, in my book! To find out more about what to expect at AM Live, skip to page 25.

They say that beauty is only skin-deep, so in this month’s issue, we shine the spotlight on skincare. On page 60, we consider the true meaning of the term ‘medical grade skincare’ and, on page 52, Dr Tunc Tiryaki gives us an insight into the results of his latest clinical trials on the regenerative impact of exosomes on the skin. I review my IPL treatment course to target a stubborn patch of pigmentation on page 69. We also consider what steps are needed to reform women’s healthcare (page 14), the importance of mental health (page 63) and how professional photography can boost your business (page 76).
