WELCOME TO THE OCTOBER ISSUE OF AESTHETIC MEDICINE

Next month we will be launching our first Aesthetic Medicine conference and exhibition at the RDS in Dublin, and I am really excited to be bringing our events to Ireland. We have got some of the best aesthetic doctors and nurses who practice in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland coming to speak at the event, as well as some of our regular speakers flying in from London, Leeds and Manchester. Head to pages 22-28 to find out who is exhibiting and speaking and what products and brands you will find on the show floor. Also in this issue, we take a look at how you can create safe spaces for transgender clients looking for laser and IPL hair removal (p42-45), examine the social media trend for “slugging” (p50-51) and delve into the rising trend for TikTok videos and the platform's place within aesthetics (p34-37). As well as this, Vanessa Bird discusses “imposter syndrome” (p70-72), and Jennifer Irvine explores the reasons your patients may not be losing weight, even if that’s their goal (p54-56). As always, we welcome your views and comments. Email me at Vicky.e@thebpbgroup.com.
