Mr Andrea Marando tells Aesthetic Medicine about using devices to prep the skin before and after cosmetic procedures helps to reduce healing times and scarring

Mr Andrea Marando is one of the leading plastic and cosmetic surgeons in the North West of England. Originally from Italy, he attained his surgical qualifications and training there, developing a personal interest in procedures for aesthetic enhancement.

Aesthetic Medicine: As a surgeon, at what point did you start introducing devices to your clinic?

Mr Andrea Marando: It has taken over 15 years for me to introduce any device into my clinic.

The reason for this has always been based on results. My work allows visible results nearly instantly and I have been mindful to only recommend a product I believe in.

As a plastic surgeon specialising in cosmetic procedures, most of my consultations with patients involve understanding the clients’ journey to me and looking at their skin quality, laxity, elasticity, and overall skin appearance. I get to hear about what treatments they use regularly, what has worked well and what they have tried tested liked and disliked.

Over the last five years, I became aware that to maintain good skin, a targeted approach is necessary. People have different skin types and issues and therefore a combination of treatments always seems to prove more beneficial.

I can retighten skin; however, it is important to keep the skin looking and feeling great and ensuring good products are used to protect the skin. Everyone should take care of their skin regardless of whether they have surgery or not.
